ROOT CANAL
THERAPY
When the nerve of a tooth becomes infected or damaged due to decay or injury, a patient will often feel pain at the site. Root Canal Therapy will allow the tooth to be saved (rather than extracted) and will eliminate the pain and the infection.
Procedure
-
The dentist freezes and enters the center of the tooth and removes the infected or damaged nerve with great care.
-
The tooth is then filled with a rubber like biocompatible material called Gutta Percha.
-
A temporary filling is then used to close the tooth.
-
The weakened tooth should then be protected with a crown or other type of restoration.

Allows the affected tooth to be saved
